Joan Kay Montgomery

Joan Kay Montgomery, 89, of Easton, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026. Joan was born on June 27, 1936, in Easton, to her parents, Dale and Ruby Bortell (Cave). Joan married Robert “Bob” Montgomery on November 3, 1956, at Easton United Methodist Church. He survives, along with children, Barb (Greg) Curry, Dave (Kathy) Montgomery, and Becky (Kent) Gray; grandchildren, Katie (Lane) Stribling, Kristyn (Dustin) Watkins, Michael (Lexi) Curry, Kayla (Danny) Sheehan, and Brett (Blaire) Montgomery; 9 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Dee Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents. Joan enjoyed baking and cooking, helping her husband on the farm, and cherished raising her children, and spending time with her grandchildren. Joan and Bob wintered in Bonita Springs, Florida, every year for 18 years, enjoying the company of friends and family and the bright climate. Joan was a member of Easton United Methodist Church, where a memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 5, at 11 am, with Steve Bagby officiating. The family will receive friends from 9-11 am at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Walkers Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Joan’s honor can be made to the Easton United Methodist Church. Hurley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
