Joyce Irene Williams

Joyce Irene Williams, 82, of Springfield, formerly of Kilbourne, passed away at 10:10 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She was born on March 5, 1943 in Springfield to Marshall and Lola Clark. She married Dean Williams on March 1, 1997. Joyce is survived by her husband, Dean Williams of Springfield; children, Craig (Cindy) Schaeffer of Astoria, Suzanne (Kevin) King of Rochester, and LeaAnn (Rod) Johnson of Auburn; step-sons, Duane and Dana Williams of Springfield; grandchildren, Kelsea Schaeffer, Brandy (Keith) Lane, Abbey (Brent) Thorman, Courtney King, Jacob King, Alex Johnson, and Ben Johnson; step-grandchildren, Ricky Williams, Dana Williams, Presley Williams, and Luke Williams; great-grandchildren, Peter Lane, and Dakota, Reagan, Cameron, and Andersen Thorman; and two step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Eleanor (Bud) Mead and Marilyn (Bill) McCracken; and step-son, Rick Williams. Joyce was a member of Kilbourne Baptist Church. Faith was an important part of her life and shaped who she was. Nothing meant more to her than her kids and grandkids, they were truly her pride and joy. She loved keeping family traditions going and was always proud of the family she built. She also loved to travel and make memories together. One of her favorite trips was in 2004, when she took the whole family on a Disney cruise for Christmas, a special time they all remembered fondly. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3 at Noon at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana, with a visitation two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Rev. Mike Hopps will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Kilbourne Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 26 from noon until 5:00 p.m. at VFW Post #10302 at 2349 Stockyard Road in Springfield.
