Stella Elizabeth Watson Bowen

Stella Elizabeth Watson Bowen, 86, of Virginia, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital, in Springfield, IL. Stella was born in Dent County, Mo. On January 27, 1939, the daughter of Virgil and Ruth “Lizzie” (Schaffer) Watson. Stella enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She is preceded in death by her parents; two children, Christina Marie Bell and Jerry Lee Bell; two great grandchildren, Adalynn Bell and Cayson Elliott; three brothers, Charles “Chuck” Watson, John “Wes” Watson, and Darrell Watson, two sisters, Katherine Joann Watson Miller and Francis Watson Cantrall. Stella is survived by her husband, Torrey; four children Kelly (John) Williams, Kim (Johnny Bill) Kruse; Ken (Barbara) Bell and Kevin Bell; grandchildren, Jason, Chris, Anthony, Zach, Hannah, Johnathan, Jessica, Joseph, Makayla, Grace, Laken, Matthew, Christian, Blayke, and Alyssa; siblings, Ernest “Bud” (Neva) Watson, Velma Ruth Ann Campbell, Sally Watson, Katie (Ron) Stancil, Rodger Watson, Randy Allen (Cheryl) Watson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 4:00-6:00PM at Ellinger-Kunz Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 530 N. Fifth Street, Springfield, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the family. Ellinger-Kunz Funeral Home in is in charge of arrangements.
