Linda Lou Jones

Linda Lou Jones, 68, of Havana, passed away at Willow Brook Memory Care, in Effingham, Illinois, at 8:37 a.m., on Friday, March 14, 2025. She was born February 6, 1957, in Springfield, to Bob and Marie (Williams) Austin. She married Fred Jones in Springfield, Illinois, on September 25, 1976. They enjoyed twenty-eight years of marriage before he preceded her in death on September 6, 2004. Mrs. Jones is survived by her father, Bob Austin, of Omaha, Nebraska; four children: John (Kara) Jones, of Springfield, Illinois, Jason (Jessica) Jones, of Stewardson, Illinois, Jennifer (Jeremy) Duckwiler, of Havana, Josh (Jackie) Jones, of Easton; grandchildren: Ally (Quentin) Wooten, John Paul Jr., Kylie, Wyatt, Harley, Nathan, Kevin, Jade, Landon, Nicholas, Kaitlyn and Zachary; as well as great-granddaughter, Scarlet Dunbar. Also surviving is one brother, Mike (Dee) Austin, of Omaha, Nebraska; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, sister Laura Austin, granddaughter Haley Leann Jones, mother-in-law Betty Jones, father-in-law Ed Jones, as well as nephew, Shaun Jones. Mrs. Jones worked for the State of Illinois for over twenty-five years. She loved fishing for catfish, singing karaoke and playing Zelda on the GameCube. Her favorite times were spent with her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Fairview Methodist Church, near Bath, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Noon, with visitation two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery. Tim Sickmeyer will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Willow Brook Memory Care, in Effingham, Illinois.
