Diane Mae Ebken

Diane Mae Ebken, 83, of Kilbourne, passed away at her home at 8:46 a.m., on Friday, March 14, 2025. She was born January 16, 1942, in Canton, Illinois, to Ralph and Marie (Blakely) Gregory. She married Ronald L. Ebken, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, on August 18 1963. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2018. Mrs. Ebken is survived by two children: Ronda (Tim) Gray, of Greenwood, Indiana, and Greg (Jackie) Ebken, of Easton, Illinois; four grandchildren: Joshua Lee (Kristen) Gray, Brittany Jo (Corbin) Cardneas, Emily Katherine (John Doggett) Ebken, and Brinna Diane (Jon Eigenbrod) Ebken; three great-grandchildren: Jackson Lee Gray, Rhett Gregory Eigenbrod, Joseph Alexander Doggett, and step-great granddaughter Hailey Bolden. Also surviving is one sister, Darlene Urish, of Easton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Ralph Gregory, and sister Deloris Pourchot. Mrs. Ebken was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she was very active in the St. John’s Quilting Group. She enjoyed music and polka dancing with her husband. She also enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and watching tractor pulling contests. She was a 1st grade teacher for many years, teaching children at Balyki and later in the Havana school district. Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, in Havana, on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery, in Havana. Rev. Brian Lesemann will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
