Robert E. “Doc” Buck

Robert E. “Doc” Buck, 96, of Canton, passed away, Monday, November 29, 2024, at the Clayberg Nursing Center in Cuba. He was born in London Mills, on August 5, 1928, to Ernest and Amy (Smith) Buck. He waspreceded in death by his parents as well as his sister, Alberta Schafer, and a special friend Rose Foss He is survived by five children, Bob (Debbie) Buck of Vermont, Jim (Debra) Buck of Maquon, Bill (Terisa) Buck of Seville, Joanne (Scott) Rupe of Canton, and Penny Buck of Macomb, thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and the mother of his children, Shirley Graham. Doc worked at Gale products in Galesburg for 17 years making Lawn Boy lawn mowers. He is a member of the Methodist Church in London Mills, VFW, American Legion and the Farmington Moose. Doc is a Veteran of the Untied States Army. He served in the Korean War and was honored to be part of the Greater Peoria Honor Flight. Doc was the world’s biggest Chicago Cubs fan. He also enjoyed the Chicago Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks. He was a Fulton County sports history buff. A funeral service will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on, Wednesday, December 4 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the services at West Midway Cemetery in London Mills. Memorials may be made to Mooseheart Child Care.
