Cleo Calvin Clark
Cleo Calvin Clark passed away on October 24, 2024. He was born feet first into the world on July 28, 1966, the son of Chester Clark, Cleo lived 58 years to the fullest. He worked for 22 years at Cutler-Hammer in Lincoln before taking the truck driving industry by storm. Cleo drove over a million miles all across the US, something he was very proud of. Cleo loved spending time working in the garden, watching his three dogs play in the yard, picking up seashells on the beach, riding his motorcycle, and attending his grandkid’s soccer games and chess matches. Cleo never met a stranger, as any gas station employee or barista in central Illinois could attest. He was always ready with a funny story or witty advice. He was absolutely a memorable character and he will be missed by more people than will ever be known. Cleo is survived by his wife of 38 amazing years, Ruth Clark, his two daughters Megan Clark (Javier Moreno) and Sarah Shawgo (Ben Shawgo) and his legacy, four grandchildren: Ryan, Nora, and Miles Shawgo, and Stella Moreno. He taught his family many things, chief among them, “If you can’t dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your bullshit.” We plan to make sure The Legend lives on even when, “it’s a brutal old struggle for the biscuit.” You will be missed. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 9 at the Easton Fire House from noon until 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in Cleo’s name to Pets Without Parents.
