Mickey Kay Stone

Mickey Kay Stone, 51, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 27, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her family will continue to honor her by living life to the fullest. Mickey was born on March 6, 1972, in Canton to John Stone and Wilda (Decker) Hines. She spent 34 years with her soul mate and the love of her life, Steve Simpson. Mickey is survived by her soul mate Steve; children James (Baileigh) Simpson, Jason (Kayla) Simpson, and Rayven (Dakota Sturgis) Simpson; grandchildren, Drayko Sturgis and Walker Simpson; parents Wilda and Dale Hines; siblings John “Bobby” (Ketra) Stone, Lonnie Stone, Dede (Franklin Ehrenhart) Stone; Tommy Stone, Beth (Jimmy) Reed, Josh (Desiree) Stone, Jamie (Stone) Ebbert, CJ (Becky) Mott; many nieces and nephews, cousins and numerous friends. She is preceded in death by her father, John Stone; grandparents Robert and Ruth (Purtle) Mickey was a caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mickey lived in Abingdon, with Steve Simpson, until they moved to Hawaii two years ago where she could enjoy her love of the outdoors and adventure year round. Her joy of life will continue on after her death through her family, loved ones and friends. She will be remembered for her kind and generous heart and her devotion to her family. Especially her children James, Jason, and Rayven Simpson. A celebration of life will be held December 17 from 2 -5 p.m. at the First Congregational Church UCC, 207 N. Washington St in Abingdon.
