William “Bill” H. Wiest, Jr.
William “Bill” H. Wiest, Jr. 78, of Havana died at 2:15 pm, Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Mason District Hospital. He was born January 27, 1945 in Springfield, to William H. Wiest, Sr. and Lucille Callarman. He married Sharon Lynn Bressan on May 7, 1966 and she survives. Also surviving are three children, Michael Todd (Mary) Wiest of Springfield, Scott (Colette) Wiest of Kelso, WA and Anne (Joe) Tetzlaff of Springfield; three grandchildren, Ean Tetzlaff, Sophie Tetzlaff and Zoelynn Wiest; one sister, Cheryl Wiest (Ken Hartke) of Topeka and one aunt, Willie Stilts of Decatur. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael Lee Wiest. Bill has been a resident of Havana since 1986. He retired in 2005 as a Safety Manager from Siciliano. He was a Master Carpenter with Carpenter’s Union Local #16 and taught the carpentry apprentice program. He was a member of Trees Forever, Farm Bureau and board member of the US Agricultural Dept. Bill also loved all birds, but especially cardinals. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 19 at Staab Funeral Home.
