Milton Schoonover

Milton Schoonover, 67, of Kilbourne passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 2:49 p.m. He was born on June 29, 1955 in Springfield to Donald and Marlene Joann (Rice) Schoonover. Milton is survived by his daughter, Leida (Tim) Reynolds of Havana; step-daughters, Merchelle (Donald) Lutz of Vermont and Marcha (Brian) Hobbs of St. David; step-son, Rodney (Jennifer) Bollinger of Vermont; grandchildren, Savannah, Zidane, and Isabella Reynolds of Havana; 10 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great grandchildren; siblings, Marvin (Carolyn) Schoonover of Kilbourne, Marty Schoonover of Snicarte, Michael Schoonover of Kilbourne, and Nila (Brian) Richardson of Havana; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Milton owned a tire business and also worked for Eaton in Petersburg. He enjoyed talking to anyone who would visit with him. He also enjoyed spreading the word of God for all to hear. He would take in anyone to his home who needed a place to stay or a hot meal. He always kept his ears open to listen to whoever needed to vent, and then he’d render his view which was always truthful. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Kilbourne Cemetery. Pastor Bill Boyce will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in Milton’s name to his daughter, Leida Reynolds to assist with funeral arrangements. Online condolences can be left for his family at www.hurleyfh.com.
