Bradley Dean Koke
Bradley Dean Koke, 75, of Havana passed away on June 23. He was born April 25, 1947 to Alvin and Mildred (Leesman) Koke and has lived in Havana his entire life. He married Barbara Burgett on August 22, 1971. Brad is survived by his son, Bradley (Melissa) Koke of Havana: granddaughter; Krista Koke, of Havana: sister; Linda (Koke) Braendle of Virginia Beach, VA: nieces; Tamara (Braendle) Hennegan of San Francisco, CA and Lynn Braendle of Denver, CO: nephew; Bradley K. Braendle of Virginia Beach, VA. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Brad graduated from Havana High School in 1965. He worked as a pipe insulator for Local 17 Heat and Frost Insulation Union for 37 years and retired in October 2007. Mr. Koke served his country as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army from August 1967 to August 1969. He fought in the Vietnam War from January 1968 to January 1969. Brad was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana, a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion, Post #138. He enjoyed spending time at his farm, at his Quiver Creek property, and visiting with friends at his garage. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, beekeeping, and housing many bluebirds and purple martins. He also loved watching his granddaughter play basketball over the years, especially in college. Services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, June 27 at 12:30 p.m. Funeral will begin at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the American Legion, Post 138.
