Peggy Jean Jones

Peggy Jean Jones, 83, of Havana passed away on Friday, February 25 at 8:43 a.m. at Havana Healthcare Center. She was born on October 23, 1938 in Havana to William D. and Anna (O’Grady) Avery. She married Lawrence Jones in Havana on December 2, 1956. Peggy is survived by her husband, Lawrence, of Havana, two granddaughters, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, sister-in-law-, Joann Brown, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Wesley Jones, and sister, Bertha. Peggy worked for the City of Havana and retired in 1997 after 25 years of service. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana, with a visitation one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Pastor Sue Roat-Hall will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Memorial donations may be made in Peggy’s name to the donor’s choice of organization.
