Betty Mae “Sam” Harp

Betty Mae “Sam” Harp, 90, of Mason City, passed away on Sunday January 2 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 29, 1931 in Isabel Township, a daughter of Roy Nelson and Lucille (Beadles) Gray. She married Robert Staltz. She later married William V. Harp. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sue Kluckman; son, Robert Harp Sr; six sisters, Helen Mayall, Charlotte McGinnis, Harriet Layzod, Maxine Sutton, Colleen Pitts, and Joann Roberts; and five brothers, Gene, Bill, Leo, Dennis, and Chucky Gray. Betty is survived by her daughter, Mary (Brad) Bellm; her son, Bill (Pam) Staltz; son-in­ law, Jim Kluckman; six grandchildren, Sean Wilcoxson, Mike Gowin, Julie Staltz, Marlene Greene, Robert Harp, Jr., and Chris Harp; 13 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great­ grandchildren; one brother, Bob (Diane) Gray of Phoenix, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews; Sam is also survived by her best buddy of many years, Polly Hahn of Lewistown. She worked in the bakery – deli at Oney’s in Havana for many years. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Schmidt-Haller Burial & Cremation Services in Peoria.
