James Calvin Lane passed away at his residence in Springfield on December 24. He was born to Frank William Lane, Sr. and Verla Lorraine (Foutch) Lane on February 17, 1953 in Canton. James was preceded in death by brothers Frank William Lane, Jr. and Patrick Lane, and sisters Verla Mae (Tee-Dee) Lane Brent, and Jacqualine Melody Lane Edwards. James married Cindy Vogt of Petersburg. They have a son, Noah James Lane, who survives, along with James’ sister, Judith Kay Lane of Havana, and six grandchildren. James worked as an electrician for many years. He loved nature and enjoyed gardening, fishing and picking at his guitar. In his later years, an aneurysm severely limited his physical activities. James was one of Jehovah’s witnesses and had great faith in Jehovah God and his son, Jesus Christ. He enjoyed talking to people about the bible and God’s Kingdom. Per James’ wishes, cremation services have been accorded with burial of the ashes at a later date.
