Charles E. Servis

Charles E. Servis, 79, of Havana passed away on Saturday, July 3 at his home. He was born on February 18, 1942 to Charles D. “Jake” and Helen (Coppenbarger) Servis. He married Patty Jo Gum on August 17, 1964, and she survives. Charles is also survived by three sons, Charles E. Servis, Jr. of Havana, Micah (Jennifer) Servis of Petersburg, and Greg Servis of Las Vegas, brother; James (Carol) of Gurnee; step-brother, Clyde (Neita) Litton of Lewisville; and half-brother, Alan Dale (Cynthia) Servis of Washington. He has six grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, one great-grandson, three step great-granddaughters, and several nieces, nephews, and fun-loving cousins. Charles joined the Navy in 1959 and later worked for Labor Local 253 for 35 years. He enjoyed golf, reading western paperback books, playing cards, and watching his grandkids play sports. Cremation rites will be carried out by Hurley Funeral Home in Havana.
