Lyla E. Friedrich, 97, of Manito, entered into her eternal rest on Wednesday, June 9, at Hopedale Nursing Home. She was born June 6, 1924, to Lyle and Blanche (Runyon) Ingersoll. She entered into Holy Matrimony with Howard H. Friedrich, on August 5, 1945. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2011. The Lord blessed them with three children – two sons, Ron (Lisa) Friedrich, of Henry, and Randy (Connie) Friedrich, of Manito – and a daughter, Bonnie (Darrel) Kammeyer, of Manito; six grandchildren: Scott (Jamie) Kammeyer, and Steve Kammeyer, of Manito, Jason (Amanda) Friedrich, of Peoria, Trenton (Alanna) Friedrich, of Louisville, KY, Caleb (Mackenzie) Friedrich, of Green Valley and Morgan (Kam Rigsby) of Garland, TX. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Abigail and Austin Kammeyer of Manito, and Haleigh Friedrich of Peoria. Lyla was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Rose Groark and Dorothy Olson, as well as one brother, Lyle Ingersoll. Lyla graduated from Green Valley High School. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Manito, where she was an active member of the Ladies League, and Hannah Circle. She was also a member of San Jose Home Extension and Mason County Farm Bureau. She and Howard enjoyed many trips with Irrigated Growers. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Manito, at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, June 14, with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Meadowlawn Cemetery, in Manito. Rev. James Batchelor will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
