Shirley D. Wise Kidder
On Sunday May 1, 2021 Shirley D. Wise Kidder passed away at Graham hospital surrounded by her family. Shirley was born on July 5th 1957 to Fred and Shirley Steele. Shirley was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley had a passion for taking care of others and could always see and understand people in a different light. She cared about everyone. Shirley worked in home health care where she took care of the elderly until she was blessed with grandkids. Shirley also was a foster parent along with her husband, Don. She took so much pride in all of her grandkids and family. If you have seen Shirley around town, she was sure to have a baby on her hip and a line of children following her, as this is what made her truly happy. So many kids knew Shirley as Grandma Shirley. Shirley was a member of the Church of Christ in Havana, IL where her and husband Don were married on October 20th of 2001. Shirley is survived by her husband, Don Kidder of Havana IL; son, Ed Wise (Taylor Walljasper) of Canton IL; daughter Amanda (Bradley) Carlock of Havana IL; son, Matt Wise (Ashley Goodrich) of Havana IL; son, Skyler Kidder of Lincoln IL; stepdaughter, Amanda (Larry) Roggasch of Galesburg IL; stepdaughter, Annette Kidder of Galesburg IL; 24 grandkids: Eddie Wise Jr, Sallena Wise, Bailey Wise, Remington Wise, Shaun Wise, Ethan Walljasper, Alexa Wise, Jayden Wise Jullian Wise, Jax Wise, Matthew Hallmark, Shianne Emken, Shelby Hallmark (Noah Cerkowniak), Layla Kidder, Lorana Kidder , Austin Kidder, Jocelyn Behymer, Logan Bell, Joseph Bell, Gabriel Kidder, Grace Anne Hills; along with the 3 grandchildren she and husband Don was currently raising: Madison Hallmark, Adrianna Hallmark and Karson Hallmark. Also 5 Great-Grandkids, Kota Hallmark, Ella Emken, Casper Bell, Violet Bell, and Ezra Bell. Also Surviving is Shirleys Mother Shirley Arthur; sisters, Sandy (Ray) Lady, and Glenda Reed all of Bloomington Indiana. Brothers Mike Steele of Nashville TN and brother, Tony Steele of Peoria IL. Also Surviving is Shirleys lifelong best friend Linda Parker of Havana IL who she regarded as a sister. Shirley was proceeded in death by her father Fred Steele of Havana; sister, Debra Kramer of Springfield MO; brother, David Steele of Havana IL, great -grandson Chase Emken and great-granddaughter, Kinlee Hallmark. Shirley will be truly missed by her family, friends and anyone that knew her, as she has touched so many lives throughout her life. Visitation will be at the Church of Christ Saturday May 8, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00am with Funeral services starting at 11:00am. Memorials may be made to the family of Shirley Kidder and to the Church of Christ in Havana, IL Hurley Funeral Home in Havana, IL are in charge of arrangements
