Carolena Lucille Koke

Carolena Lucille Koke, 84, of Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, February 4, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. She was born on February 10, 1936, the daughter of Elmer and Anna Hilda (Horstman) Koke in Havana. Carolena was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Petersburg. She served as a member of the Ladies Aid. She loved getting together with her family and friends over the years. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards. Her bright smile and sweet demeanor immediately drew you to her. She will be greatly missed by all. Carolena is survived by her niece, Carol Koke Mueller of Petersburg; her nephew, Mike Koke of Springfield; two great nephews, Kyle Mueller of Los Angeles, California, and Nathan (Emma) Mueller Clovis, California; and a cousin, Marilyn (Dorland “Worth”) Koke Smith of Grays Lake. She is also survived by several cousins. Carolena was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wendell Koke. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 6, at 11:15 a.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg is in charge of assisting the family with services.
