Eva Mae Craggs

Eva Mae Craggs, 91, of Havana, passed away at her daughter’s home at 1:15 p.m., Saturday, July 11 surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 26, 1928, in Monticello, Kentucky to Lester and Zollie Velma (Powell) Morrow. She was raised by her mother and loving step-father, Charles H. Dearing. She married George D. Craggs on January 12, 1947 in Petersburg. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1976. Mrs. Craggs is survived by three daughters: Karen (Charles) Hazzard of Lewistown, Nanette (Mark) Schmink of The Villages, Florida, and Georgia (Terry) Winson of Springfield, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, step-father, husband, one brother, Howard Morrow and one sister, Marie Turner. Mrs Craggs’ faith journey began at the Kilbourne Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Havana where she served as a Sunday School teacher and a Youth Group Leader. She has been an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Havana for many years. She was a member of the Havana Woman’s Club. She previously worked for the State of Illinois and later the City of Havana. A memorial mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Havana, at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 20. Fr. David Whiteside will officiate. Burial will follow at Kilbourne Cemetery in Kilbourne. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements.

    Eva will be so so missed by us. She always made laughter anywhere she went. Love her forever v
