Jack Dean O’Grady

Jack Dean O’Grady, 80, of Green Valley, passed away at his home at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26. He was born August 31, 1939, in Havana, to Wilson and Clara (Roof) O’Grady. He married Julie Fulton on November 3, 1970, in Havana. She preceded him in death on February 16, 1973. Mr. O’Grady is survived by one sister, Ruth Wickman, of Havana; niece, Marianne (Kevin) Cross; and two nephews: Dean (Debbie) Wickman and Troy (Lori) Wickman, all of Havana. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Mr. O’Grady served in the US Navy. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed horseback riding. He was a lifetime member of Ducks Unlimited, Matanzas Gun Club and VFW Post #2910. He liked to work with the Humane Society to take care of animals and to find pets new homes. He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for many years, retiring from a position in management. Cremation rites have been accorded and private family graveside services will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Ducks Unlimited, T.A.P.S. or Pets Without Parents. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements.
