David L. Foster

David L. Foster, 86, of Havana, passed away at his home at 4:17 a.m., on Sunday, February 9, 2020. He was born October 23, 1933, in Pekin to Frank and Ida (Hoch) Foster. He married Joyce Arlene Schaeffer on January 16, 1959. She survives. Mr. Foster is survived by his wife, Joyce, of Havana; two children: Terry (Kim) Foster of Topeka and Debbie (Dean) Wickman of Havana; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, one brother and one daughter, Cheryl Ann Foster. Mr. Foster was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Havana, where he had served as a Trustee. He enjoyed fishing, auctions and antiques. He served in the US Navy from 1953 until 1957, during the Korean War. He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 35 years, retiring in 1986. Funeral services will be held at 1st Baptist Church in Havana on Wednesday, February 12 at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the services. Military rites will be performed at the church, following the services. Rev. Daniel Swihart will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to 1st Baptist Church.
