Bernadean “Bernie” Patton

Bernadean “Bernie” Patton, 70, of Havana, passed away at her home at 7:10 a.m., on Saturday, October 26, 2019. She was born October 30, 1948, in Canton, to Bernard and Nellie Mae (Nebergall) Russell. She married William Thomas Patton in Havana, in 1999, at their home. Mrs. Patton is survived by her husband, William, of Havana; children: Jeri (Jason) Shilling, Heather (Stevan) Hofreiter and Lori (Troy) Wickman, all of Havana, Todd (Nicki) Patton of East Peoria; eleven grandchildren: Claire, Madison, Dominique, Samuel, Taylor, Tory, Taryn, Britany, Jessica, Tanner and Trevor; as well as three great-grandchildren: Jaxen, Kyler and Korbin. Also surviving are five siblings: Debra Russell of Arizona, Gordon Russell of Kentucky, William (Lynn) Nebergall and Jason (Leslie) Nebergall, both of Canton and Lena (Greg) Bankert of Pontiac. She was preceded in death by step-son Troy Patton and her parents. Mrs. Patton was a Life Member of VFW Post #6408 Women’s Auxiliary in Havana. She worked for Continental Grain in Havana for 31 years. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with her grandchildren and gardening. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28 at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana from 5 until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, also at the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Jame Hahs will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post #6408 Women’s Auxiliary or Mason District Hospital.
