Doris E. Paul

Doris E. Paul, 74, of Havana passed away at her home on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 9:35 a.m. She was born in Marietta, Illinois on September 12, 1945 to Oscar and Dorothy (Bevard) Lasswell. She married James Paul in Havana on May 17, 2014.

Doris is survived by her husband, daughters: Annette “A.J.” (Jim) Burgett of Havana and Marsha (Doug) Burnett of London Mills, sons: Bill (Kim) Elgin of Knoxville and Brandon “Bo” (Hind) Elgin of Havana, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Maxine Swift of Bushnell. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Sheldon Bevard, James Lasswell, Larry Cooper, and Charlie Cooper.

Mrs. Paul was a member of the Southern Baptist Church of Havana. She worked at Pamida and Mason District Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Doris enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, and gardening. She loved to spend time with her husband and family.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 10:00 AM also at Hurley Funeral Home. Rev. Don Full will officiate. Burial will be held at Bushnell Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be left in Doris’s name to the Disabled Veterans. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
