Juanita Fern Bahl
Juanita Fern Bahl, 97, of Kilbourne, passed away at Mason District Hospital, in Havana, at 4:54 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019. She was born April 24, 1921, in Kilbourne, to Carl and Faye (Sears) Gosnell. She married J. Raymond Bahl on October 1, 1939, in Havana. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1977. Mrs. Bahl is survived by two sons: Gary (Diane) Bahl of Havana, Jerry Bahl of Kilbourne; daughter, Marilyn (Ken) Stone, of Morton; twelve grandchildren as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter Carolyn Shawgo, three brothers: Howard, Orville and Paul Gosnell, three grandchildren: Brett Bahl, Carrie Sue Melcher and Richie Melcher; and one great-grandson, Carter Shawgo. Mrs. Bahl retired from Ideal Industries in Petersburg. She had also farmed alongside her husband on the family farm for many years. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery. Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17 with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the funeral service at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Rev. Abraham Mogerman will officiate.
