Richard W. Painter, 66, of Havana, passed away at Havana Healthcare Center at 6:46 a.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2018. He was born November 20, 1952, in Canton to Austin O. and Ruth (Lilly) Painter. Mr. Painter is survived by one son, Dustin (Ayan Jama) Boggs, of Detroit, Michigan; four grandchildren; sister, Betty (Mike) Stiltz of Forest City; aunt, Evelyn Ross of Havana, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Anna, and brothers Joseph, Robert “Bobby”, and George “Skeeter”. Mr. Painter was a gun enthusiast, who enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting. He worked for Dana Corporation at foundries in Havana, Chicago and Indiana for many years. Funeral services will held on Friday, December 14, at 11 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Rev. Jim Buchanan will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to T.A.P.S.
