Sharon Naomi Fox

Sharon Naomi Fox, 80, of Wee-Ma-Tuk , passed away at 9:35 PM November 15, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 24, 1938 in Streator, to the late Lemuel R. Rees Sr. and Florence Naomi (Offord) Rees. She married James L. Fox on October 14, 1964 in Peoria. Sharon graduated from Chicago Wesley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. After raising her family, she went back to work and retired after 15 years of service as a nurse at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. She loved playing the piano, writing a book on family genealogy, sewing, cooking, traveling, visiting historic homes of our late presidents, baking, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church, a life member of the National DAR, a Sunday School Teacher, a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader, 4-H Leader, and PTA member where she served as the president for two years. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, James L. Fox of Wee-Ma-Tuk; one son, James Russell (Leigh Ann) Fox of Edwards; two daughters, Amy Lyn Fox of Mt. Vernon, Ind., and Kathleen “Kady” Rose Trier of East Peoria; four grandchildren, James Dillon Fox, Emily Elizabeth Trier, Madison Rose Trier, and Sophia Katherine Dupent, she also has two brothers and one sister who live in the Grand Ridge area. A private family service and burial was held in the Hyatt Cemetery at Wee-Ma-Tuk. Memorial contributions can be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital. Condolences may be made at www.henrylange.com
