Charlotte E. Sexton

Charlotte E. Sexton nee Cox, 89, of Havana passed away on September 7, 2018 at 10:52 p.m. at Mason District Hospital in Havana. She was born on February 2, 1929 in Canton to Alfred and Ida Lafern (Cook) Cox. On November 10, 1947 in Fulton County she married Dale Sexton who preceded her in death in 2003. She is survived by three sons: Steve (Linda) Sexton of Havana, David (Carolyn) Sexton of Cisne, Mark Sexton of Canton, five daughters: Judy (Carl) Fink of Georgia, Lynn Bertelsen of Havana, Lory Jones (Don Walch) of Havana, and Carol Sexton (Dennis Servis) of Havana, son-in-law Gary Melton, 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Kathy
Melton and five sisters: Margaret, Evelyn, Helen, Virginia, and Marilyn. Charlotte was a member of the Church of Christ in Havana, was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Canton, volunteered at the Mission of Hope and enjoyed baking cakes and cookies and making rugs. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 12, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ with Pastor Bill Boyce officiating, visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. also at the church, inurnment to follow the memorial at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
