Larry James Steging

Larry James Steging, 77, of Irving, TX, formerly of Havana, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Baylor Medical Center in Carrolton, TX. Larry was born January 10, 1941 to Carl James (Tod) and Jeanette (McDonald) Steging. Larry worked 25 years as a Special Agent for the FBI. After retiring, he successfully operated his own private investigation business in Dallas, TX. Larry and his wife Carol were married for 18 years and loved travelling together. In his free time he enjoyed doing woodworking projects in the garage with his grandchildren. Larry is survived by his wife, and best friend, Carol Steging; children: Roger (Wanda) Steging, Rod (Melissa) Steging, and Sandy (Monte) Jungman; and stepchildren: Darla (Santos) Canas, Susan (Bill) Boyle, Vance Walden, Billy Walden, and Brother Glen Steging. Larry was the proud grandfather of Ashley Jungman, Taylor (Alex) Warfel, Josh Steging, Jordan Jungman, Cooper Steging and Ricky Canas. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Janice Steging and brother Marvin Steging. The family would like to thank the VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit of Baylor Medical Center and its compassionate staff for making Larry’s final days as comfortable as possible. The Memorial Service will be Saturday August 25, 2018 as Christ Church, 1750 E. Airport Fwy, Irving, TX. If desired memorials can be made to Christ Church.
