James Dwayne Lance
James Dwayne Lance, 80, of Havana, passed away at his home at 4:05 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017. He was born April 29, 1937 in Peoria to Charles and Barbara Ellen (Smothers) Lance. He married Sharon Graham on August 29, 1959 in Peoria. Mr. Lance is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Havana; three daughters: Sherry Richardson, Robin Hannum and Cindy Lance, all of Havana; five grandsons: Brad Richardson, Brock (Lindsay) Richardson, Bryce (Whitney) Richardson, Drake Hannum and Donovan (Tanner) Hannum; seven great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Brianna, Brent, Brylee, Brystol, Briella and Braxton, as well as several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are one brother, Bob Lance, of Havana and one sister, Illiad “Dee” (Jack) Pampson of Bartonville, as well as sister-in-law, Toni Lance of Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harold “Pete” Lance. Mr. Lance worked at Wheeling Corrugating in Havana for 23 years. He later worked for Mason District Hosptial, retiring in 1999. He served in the US Navy. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, computers, and his dogs Buddy and Buster. Cremation rites have been accorded and there are no public services planned at this time. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements.
