Hazel Brown

Hazel E. Brown, 97, of Lewistown passed away at 2:02 p.m. Tuesday May 24, 2016 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
 She was born February 21, 1919 at St. Clair County, Illinois the daughter of Jesse G. and Lena (Kohlenberger) Bishop. She married Lawrence Brown on June 30, 1937 at Lewistown. He died July 5, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Kerry Brown, one daughter Janet Brown, 7 brothers, and 4 sisters. Surviving are one son, Larry (Carol) Brown of Tremont, one daughter, Barbara (Roscoe) Bickel of Canton, two brothers, Gerald Bishop of California, and Delbert Bishop of Missouri, three sisters, Jean Kline and Karen Serwacki both of Havana and Louise Hendren of Moberly, MO; eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
Hazel was a homemaker and family meant everything to her. She was a member of Bryant Christian Church and the Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown. Hazel enjoyed sewing, crafts, and reading her bible. Hazel was extremely devoted to her family.
A private graveside service was held Friday May 27 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Pastor Brandon Brown officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Street Christian Church.
