Leota Larson

Leota Larson, of Cloverdale, formerly of Havana, IL, departed this life to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle, IN.
She was born March 25, 1924 in Kewanee, IL to Jasper and Nannie Cobb Whitehead.  On august 8, 1943, she married David Larson, who preceded her in death on September 8, 2014.
Surviving are, her children, Kathleen (Danny) Caulkins of Cloverdale, IN, Nancy Febus of Springfield, IL, and Aaron Larson of Havana, IL; twelve grandchildren, Marsha Darlington of Lincoln, IL, Rachel (Mark) Wilson of Evansville, IN, Jeremiah Caulkins of Greencastle, IN, Stephen (Amber) Caulkins of Cloverdale, IN, Josh (Rachel) Larson of Easton, IL, Zach (Kim) Larson, William Larson, Aaron Kipp (Jennifer) Larson, all of Havana, IL, Matthew Febus of Champaign, IL, Julia (Eric) Prevost of Mechanicsburg, IL, Jesse (Melissa) Febus of Mt. Auburn, IL, and Timothy (Ashley) Febus of Springfield, IL; 15 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Whitehead; sister, Della Stephens; one son, David Norman Larson; and one grandson-in-law, Mel Darlington.
Leota was a charter member of the Havana Church of Christ in Havana, IL and a charter member of the Lincoln Christian Nursing Home Auxiliary, where she volunteered for many years.  She helped cook meals for senior citizens in Havana for a number of years, taught Sunday School, and provided food for funerals and other occasions at the church.
Visitation will be held from 10-12 on Monday, January 11 at the Havana Church of Christ.  Services will begin at 12 with Pastor Danny Caulkins officiating.  Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.  Hurley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Memorials may be made to Havana Church of Christ.  Online condolences may be made at
