Dennis E. Sorrill

Dennis E. Sorrill, 74, of Versailles passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Rushville Nursing Home. He was born, Sept. 28, 1951, in Jacksonville, the son of Byron and Pauline Walihan Sorrill. He married Donna E. Whewell, Oct. 16, 1982. Surviving is wife of 43 years, Donna of Versailles; son, Drew (Ashley) Sorrill and grandson, Jonah Sorrill of Grand Prairie, TX; son, Douglas (fiancé, Blake Barringer) Sorrill of St. Charles, MO; sisters, Suella Tucker of Lincoln and Lisé (deceased husband, Gregg) Williams of MS; three brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Melanie (surviving husband, Donald) Cook and brother, Kevin Sorrill. Per his wishes, cremation and no public services. Daws Family Funeral Home in Jacksonville is assisting the family. Memorials are suggested to Cass Schuyler Area Hospice.
