Holiday Season of Giving – Toys, Ts and Bikes!
A brand new holiday event has been organized in Havana for the Saturday after Christmas by John Lorek, Amanda McDaniel and Jennifer Burgess.
In cooperation with the City of Havana everyone is invited to the City Center on Market Street (former Stelter-Hofreiter building) where between 1 and 3:30 p.m., they will be giving away 1,000 brand new stuffed animals donated by PetSmart of Peoria.
There will also be 1,000 Havana Duck wrist bands donated Lorek’s Illinois Ability Sports organization. They will also have 600 adult-size American Apparel t-shirts for the grown-ups, and members of Havana’s Girl Scout Troop No. 6016 will be handing out childrens’ winter gloves.
This is also where anyone 18 and younger can get a raffle ticket to fill out and put in a drawing for one of more than 25 brand new bicycles which have been donated by area individuals and organizations.
The tickets will be placed in the drawing for the bicycle they hope to win. The winners will be announced immediately before the lighting of the Courtyard of Lights which is set for 5 p.m.
