Carriage rides, trolley rides, Santa’s house, and Christmas carols are all a part of this annual event. Look for scenes from the Nutcracker Suite performed in business storefronts, beautifully decorated store windows, and trees wrapped in twinkling lights in Jones Park. What a holiday treat! Merchants around the downtown area keep their doors open late to show their appreciation to customers for their patronage over the past year, and offer cookies, cocoa, and other goodies. Even if it’s cold outside, the holiday decorations and the spirit of the season bring a special warmth to this event. Admission to this event is free and open to the public.

   Kids  and adults may opt to wear their pajamas, robe and slippers to the Arlee Theater where The Conductor will punch their ticket.  Elves give each “passenger” hot chocolate and a cookie to enjoy while watching the classic Christmas movie, “Polar Express,” and afterwards, passengers get a jolly greeting and souvenir from good old Saint Nick himself.  The Polar Express Experience will get under way at 6 p.m. Dec. 14 & 15, and 2 p.m. Dec. 16. Doors open one hour before each show.  Advance tickets are on sale Nov. 1 – Dec. 13. Tickets covering the Experience will cost $10 at the door for all ages; children’s tickets can be purchased in advance for $7 at www.arleetheater.com.
