Liz Krietemeyer

Liz Krietemeyer, 55, of East Peoria, passed away at 7:52 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Liz was born November 3, 1967 in Racine, WI to Dale J. and Judy F. Stout Bissett. She married John Krietemeyer on May 17, 1997 at Mossville United Methodist Church. Surviving is her husband, John; her mother, Judy of East Peoria; her siblings, Sharon (Chris) Huitt of Florida and Randy (Lisa) Bissett of Virginia; nieces and nephews, Adam and Thomas Hansell, Beth Ann Burch, and Matthew Bissett; her mother-in-law, Jackie Krietemeyer, and her siblings-in-law and their families. She was preceded in death by her father and her father-in-law, Fred Krietemeyer, and her sister-in-law, Jacque Willis. Liz graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. She worked over 30 years in environmental research at the USDA Ag Lab in Peoria, a job she very much enjoyed. She loved all things Winnie the Pooh and the Harry Potter series. She was a Green Bay Packer fan from the time she was a baby and never stopped rooting for them. She also had a fondness for animals and was a consistent supporter of TAPS for over 25 years. A celebration of Liz’s life will be held from 1-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to Liz’s charity of choice, TAPS No-Kill Shelter.
