Norman Leroy White

Norman Leroy White, 92, of Forest City passed away at his home at 11:52 a.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2023. He was born on November 13, 1930 in Pekin to Roy and Julia (Heyl) White. He married Pat Reynolds on January 18, 1948 and later married Zoe Zempel on April 22, 1971 in Palmyra, Missouri. Norman is survived by his wife, Zoe White, son, Eric (Jennifer) White of Forest City, and grandchildren, Collin, Evan, and Maia White. He was preceded in death by his parents and sons, Greg and Jeff White. Norman was a member of Forest City Community Church. He worked with his father at White Implement Company in Forest City for many years, then became a commercial pilot, working as an aerial applicator and for the Illinois Waterfowl Survey. He also farmed for many years. Norman was a member of the Forest City/Manito Rotary Club, Irrigated Growers, Mason County Farm Bureau, Manito Masonic Lodge, and Matanzas Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, and his dogs and horses. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest City Community Church, with a visitation one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Rev. Guy Williams will officiate. Memorial donations may be made in Norman’s name to Forest City-Manito Rotary Club. Online condolences can be left for his family at www.hurleyfh.com.
