Jody L. Onion
Jody L. Onion, 59, born November 13, 1963 in Canton passed away on August 1, 2023 in Dekalb. She was the daughter of the late Karen (Kopp) Brown and James Onion. Both of her parents preceded her in death. She did not marry, but spent the last 15 years with her long term partner, Greg Banks of Dekalb. Jody was preceded in death by her brother James Austin Onion (J.R.). She is survived by her son, Boston W. McDonald and grandchild Lennox McDonald, both of New Hampshire; sister Julie Onion of York, Pennsylvania; brother Jamie Brown and sister-in-law Chelsey Brown of Havana; niece Emma Lynch of San Diego, California; nephews Preston and Doolin Onion both of Phoenix, Arizona; sister-in-law Christina Onion of Phoenix, Arizona; uncle Robert Onion and aunt Norma Onion of Summum; cousins Stephanie (Onion) Hernandez and Bryan Onion both of Summer. In her free time, Jody loved to paint (when she was younger) and put puzzles together. She worked as a welder for several years. Jody was full of fun, life and energy. She was always telling jokes. She burned the candle at both ends with no regrets. She wasn’t perfect. She made mistakes, but she had a big heart and meant well. She will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends.
