Sharon Rose Cowin

Sharon Rose Cowin, 81, of Kilbourne passed away at 2:31 a.m. on Monday, January 9 at her home. She was born on February 7, 1941 to Lyle Baer and Imogene Morris Baer. She married Roy Cowin on June 14, 1959 in Havana and he survives. Sharon is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roy Cowin of Kilbourne; children Christy (David) Fletcher of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky and Tony (Jodi Morgan) Cowin of Kilbourne; grandchildren, Sarah (Aaron) Lipe, Benjamin (Morgan) Fletcher, Logan (Morgan) Cowin, Luke (Abby) Cowin, and Nicole (Tanner) Force; four great-grandchildren: Arabella Christine Fletcher, Stetson McCoy Cowin, Autumn Elizabeth Fletcher, and McKenzie J Force; and half-brother, Butch (Laura) Shick of Michigan, and cousin Cheryl McCawley. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sharon graduated from Havana High School in 1959 and worked in the family business for 33 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, going on casino bus trips, volunteering with Kilbourne Fire Department fund-raisers, and feeding and watching the many hummingbirds at her back-porch feeders. Sharon also delighted in telling her family stories about her much-loved father-in-law and mother-in law, husband, kids, and grandkids. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Kilbourne Cemetery. Rev. Abraham Mogerman will officiate. A luncheon will be held at Kilbourne Fire Department following the service for anyone who would like to visit with Sharon’s family. Memorial donations may be made in Sharon’s name to Kilbourne Fire Department. Online condolences can be left for her family at www.hurleyfh.com.
