Jeanne Marie Komnick

Jeanne Marie Komnick, 74, of Havana passed away at 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, December 22 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She was born on February 28, 1948 in Springfield to Alvin and Kathryn (Felker) Messling. She married John Komnick on March 3, 1973 in Springfield. Jeanne is survived by her husband; children, Justin Komnick of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jennifer Komnick of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Janelle Komnick of London, England; grandson, Wyatt; sister, Patricia Wysocki of Ingleside; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Kay Messling. Jeanne was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Havana. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in English. She was a master gardener, a lifeguard, and an accomplished swimmer. She also volunteered at New Salem as an interpreter and in the gift shop. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, January 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Havana Regional Airport.
