Donna L. Lynn

Donna L. Lynn, 80, of Oakford passed away on Tuesday, December 6 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg. She was born on June 7, 1942, in Pekin to Fred and Maudie (Clark) Cohenour. Donna married Jerry M. Lynn on December 24, 1962 and celebrated 53 years of marriage before his passing on October 12, 2016. Donna is survived by her children, Jerry W. (Tracy) Lynn and Cheryl Sparks both of Oakford; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; her siblings, Diane Larson of Port Charlotte, FL, Sharon McKinney of Havana, Edward Peck Allen Sr. of Baylis, and Bill Allen of Pekin. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward “Eddie” Lynn; two brothers, George Cohenour and Richard “Butch” Cohenour; and four sisters, Norma Lynn, Judy Otto, Alice “Sissy” Brackney, and Karen Cohenour. Donna loved cooking, fishing, and turtle and frog hunting. She and her husband had previously owned and operated J&D’s Restaurant in Oakford for over 17 years. Donna was an avid garage sale goer and always enjoyed shopping on the Spoon River Drive. A funeral service will be held for Donna on Saturday, December 10, at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakford Cemetery in Oakford. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
