Robert T. Barbour

Robert T. Barbour, 82, of San Jose passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 2. He was born on September 6, 1940 in Springfield to Norman and Mary June (Grace) Barbour. On February 10, 1967 in Lake Village, Indiana he married Karen Joy Wilkie who passed away in 2005. Robert is survived by 4 children: Robert Bales of Creve Cour, Dianna (Joe) Nolan of San Jose, Thomas (Renea) Barbour of Indiana and Matthew Barbour of San Jose, 3 grandchildren: Teage (Cliff) Stambaugh, Brice (Brittany) Barbour and Andrew Barbour, 6 great-grandchildren: Liahm, Greyson, Kindred, Styles, Abra and Zion and his cat Elvis. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 4 brothers and infant son Michael. Robert served in the United States Navy. He worked 20 plus years for Better Coil and Transformer Company in Goodland, Indiana before returning to Illinois to work at Ball Glass Bottle Factory. He then retired to care for his critically ill wife. He was a member of the San Jose Christian Church. Robert enjoyed carpentry work, fishing and was an avid White Sox fan. A funeral will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in San Jose on Tuesday, November 8 at 2:00 p.m., visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and go until the time of service also at the Funeral Home.
