Sandra Hutchison

Sandra Hutchison, 81, of Bath silently passed before us and under God Saturday, May 21. A loving mother and grandmother, Sandra was born August 22, 1940 to Howard and Irene (Holmes) Watkins, and later raised by her step-father and mother, Charles and Irene DeFord. Sandra was the eldest of 12 siblings and perhaps the guiding light of each. Sandra married Finis R. Hutchison on July 3, 1957. Together they had three children, Kevin (Juanita), Finis (D.D), Jr., and Kenneth (Chrissy). Sandy worked in multiple facets throughout her life. Serving alongside her husband and raising her children as caretaker of Grand Island Lodge in Bath was perhaps her most rewarding and warmest of experiences. Never one to avoid a task, Sandy was a tireless worker, but one who always took the time to enjoy the finer, and simper things that life offers. As a nature lover, Sandy was an avid angler and one who taught many the finer points of fishing, albeit line, pole or net. Sandy made the best of every day, under the umbrella of the Lord Himself. Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Finis R. Hutchison, son, Finis (D.D.), granddaughters Leah K & Dolly F, her parents, sisters, Cheryl and Karen, and brothers, Donny and Brian. Sandy is survived by her sons Kevin and Amos, several grandchildren & great-grandchildren, sisters Cindy, Judith, and Chrissy, and brothers, Kenneth, David, Jerry and Michael. Cremation rites have been accorded and a burial will be held at a later date. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements.
