Donald W. Rock, 73, of Mason City passed away on Monday, May 2 at Memorial Hospital, Springfield. He was born in Lincoln on April 4, 1949 to Clifford and Kathryn (Garrison) Rock. Don is survived by a son, James (Christina) Rock; a daughter, Shonda Pinkham; and a step daughter, Tasha Marshall; grandchildren, Zaryn Rock, Cailyora Rock; sisters, LaVerne(Pat) Shanahan of Pekin; Linda Duncan of Mayfield, Ky; Shirley (Gary Woodall) Johnson of Wickliffe, Ky; Betty Garlisch of Mason City; and Connie(Rich) Stiltz of Topeka. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Clifford, four sisters, Janet Elaine Rock, Patricia Ann Rock, Louise Bubert, Jean Hurt and one grandson, Camren James Rock. Don attended Easton Schools and served in the U. S. Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He worked for several local farmers and later was the caretaker for the Marion Country Club. Don’s hobbies included macrame and collecting antiques. He enjoyed thrift stores and yard sales. Don was very crafty–a jack of all trades. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
