Rose Mary Huber

Rose Mary Huber, 93, of Easton passed away on Saturday, January 8 at Mason City Area Nursing Home. She was born on May 11, 1928 in Metamora to Otto and Rose Catherine (Meismer) Giehl. On June 26, 1952 in Port Hueneme, California she married Marvin “Bud” Huber who preceded her in death in 2017. Rose is survived by 6 children: Patti Strader (companion Greg Laun) of Easton, Steve (Eileen) Huber of Elmwood, Jim (Lori) Huber of Sherman, Cathy (John) Scarcliff of Canton, Bill (Debbie) Huber of Leroy, Karen (Rob) Leinweber of Easton, 9 grandchildren: Brian Strader, Brittany Huber, Andrew (Emily) Huber, Justin Scarcliff, Nick (Lex) Huber, Seth (Jessica) Scarcliff, Hannah (Stephen) Trott, Rebecca Leinweber, Lorena (Nick) Fraley and 7 great-grandchildren: Brayden and Brylie Strader, Michelina and Bennett Huber, Arlo Huber, Cohen Scarcliff, Lorelei Fraley, her sister Bernadette West and brother Thomas Giehl. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings: Francis Giehl, Eugene Giehl, Paul Giehl. Rose graduated from Illinois State Normal University and taught Math until deciding to stay home to raise her children. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln. Rose was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society at St. Columba’s Church and volunteered at the Food Pantry and the kitchen at the Easton schools. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and loved her specialty of baking bread, cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls. A private family service will be held with burial at Easton Cemetery.
