Janice Kay Ragle

Janice Kay Ragle, 74, of Springfield, formerly of Astoria, and Mountain Home Arkansas, passed away at Memorial Medical Center, in Springfield, at 4:15 p.m., on Wednesday, November 17. She was born August 7, 1947, in Rosiclaire to Joseph and Geraldine (Gullett) Gerhardt. She married Randall Ragle, on November 12, 1966, in East Peoria. He survives. Mrs. Ragle is survived by her husband, Randall, of Springfield; four children: Shawn (Jodie) Ragle of Astoria, Joe (Christie) Ragle of Marietta, Dave (Angie) Ragle, of Astoria and Brandon (Kris) Ragle of Springfield; and ten grandchildren: Bryan (Rianna), Michelle, Rachel, Ashley (Blane), Sami, John, Tristan, Joshua, McKenzie and McKayla. Also surviving is one sister, Carol Becher of East Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Linda and JoAnn. Mrs. Ragle loved to travel and had been a member of several clubs, including Red Hat Society, Welcome Club, Friends of the Library and Lady Elks. She had worked for home health care and in the deli and bakery at Day and Palin for several years. Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, in Havana, on Wednesday, November 24, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from Noon until 2:00 p.m., immediately prior to the services. Pastor Greene of the Astoria Methodist Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Association.
