Russell “Marty” Martin Claussen

Russell “Marty” Martin Claussen, 63, of Oakford, passed away on Sunday, September 12, at home surrounded by family. He was born on March 8, 1958 in Springfield to Pete and Jo (Severns) Claussen. He married Karen Blasko on May 25, 1985 at Saint Cabrini Church in Springfield. Marty is survived by his wife, Karen of Oakford; their 4 children, Chad (Carrie) Claussen of Chandlerville,, Katie (Jon Dial) Claussen of Petersburg, Justin (Jodie Parker) Claussen of Sydney, AU, and Tyler (Chelsea) Claussen of Petersburg; 8 grandchildren, Blake, Lacey, Payne, Keaton, Rose, Harley, Joseph and Lillian; 4 great grandchildren, Norah, Lindy, Ava, and Emersyn; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is also survived by his father, Pete; 3 brothers, David, Bret, Howie; and 1 sister, Lisa. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jo; his brother, Bryon; his grandparents; and his Father-in-law, Mike. Marty graduated from PORTA High School. He worked at his family’s owned business, Claussen Machine Shop. He later became the owner of his construction business, Claussen and Son’s. Per Marty’s wishes, cremation will be accorded and there will be no formal services. A celebration of life will be held at Connor’s Corner Pub, 100 West Main Street, Tallula, IL 62688 on October 9, from noon to 4:00 p.m.. Memorials may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
