Valera Cora Middleton
Valera Cora Middleton, 91, of Havana, passed away at The Lodge at Manito, at 5:53 a.m., on Wednesday, July 21. She was born at home, in Mason County, on January 6, 1930, to Herbert and Avis (Dobson) Dye. She married Wilfred R. Middleton on December 20, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1990. Mrs. Middleton is survived by one son: Bob Middleton of Camdenton, Missouri; three grandchildren: Cora Middleton, Jeremy (Deb) Middleton, and Julia (Kevin) Wilemon; and three great-grandchildren: Samantha, Bruno and Ella Middleton. Also surviving are three sisters: Linda Bailey, Judy Richardson, and Mary Kolves; and three brothers: Kenneth Dye, Michael Dye and Allen Dye, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Barbara Bohanan, and three brothers: Grover “Buck” Dye, Louis Dye and Gary Dye. Mrs. Middleton was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Havana. She retired from Crescent Forge and Shovel, in Havana, after over thirty years. She later served as Parish Secretary at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, for over twenty years. Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home, in Havana, on Sunday, July 25 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with Rosary beginning at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, on Monday, July 26, at 11:00 a.m. Fr. David Whiteside officiated. Burial followed the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery, in Havana.
