Sharon Rose Richardson

Sharon Rose Richardson, 80, of Bath passed away at 4:37 p.m. on Monday, July 12 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born on July 1, 1941 in Havana to Calvin and Mabel (Taylor) Pierson. She married Carroll “Wayne” Richardson on December 24, 1955. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2011. Mrs. Richardson is survived by her children, Brenda (Gary) Scheland of Kilbourne and Jeffery Wayne Richardson of Bath; six grandchildren, Billy (Tammie) Todd, Trisha Bailey, Sarah (Dean) Shawgo, Gary Scheland, Andrew Goben, and Hayley Goben; ten great-grandchildren, Caleb, Kaylee, Noah, Jake, Kolby, Kurtis, Kellen, Kelson, Laikyn, and Liberty; and siblings, Larry “Buck” Pierson of Havana, Loretta Hurt of Havana, and Donnie Lippert of Morton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Patty Painter, two great-great grandkids, and siblings, Wilbur Pierson, Shirley Kelly, Butch Lippert, Colleen Otto, and Dixie Watkins. Mrs. Richardson was of the Baptist faith. She worked at the Virginia Country Club and later at Grand Island for 25 years. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was a huge LA Dodgers fan and an avid camper, gambler, and card player. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Rev. Billy Todd will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Burial will follow the service at Bath Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Richardson’s name to Pets Without Parents or her family. Online condolences can be left for her family at www.hurleyfh.com.
