Larry Ivan Munsch, Sr.

Larry Ivan Munsch, Sr., 85, of Havana, passed away at 10:15 p.m., on Wednesday, June 16,at his home. He was born August 29, 1935, in Havan, to Robert and Lillian Mae Munsch. He married Sheila Rose Cohee on October 10, 1964, in Havana. She preceded him in death on March 20, 2021. Mr. Munsch is survived by eight children: Lynda Mae (Buddy) Eberly, of Spokane, Washington, Betty Sue (Steve) Capps, Lynnette (Ron) Witt, Valerie (Donnie) Green, Gitana (Brian) Melton, Larry (Kathy) Munsch, Jr., Jenny (Matt) Windsor and Crystal (Jeremiah) Bassett, all of Havana; twenty-eight grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two sisters: Betty Jean and Janet. Mr. Munsch attended church at Waterford Church, near Lewistown,. He served in the United States Air Force from 1956 until 1962. He had worked for Skelgas, in Havana, and retired from the State of Illinois, Department of Conservation. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #6408, in Havana. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 18 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 19 at 1:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Rev. Donnie Green will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. VFW Post #6408 and American Legion Post #138, will provide military rites at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post #6408 in Havana.
