Frank “Frankie” Allan Pierson, 66, of Oakford, passed away on Sunday, May 16, at his home. He was born August 22, 1954, the son of Phineas and Lacona (Anderson) Pierson, in Springfield. He married his first wife, Marsha Dambacher, in 1973, but they later divorced. He then married Melanie Taapken on February 17, 1993. Frankie belonged to the Route 97 Cruisers and was an avid classic car restorer and collector. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. Most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Frankie is survived by his wife, Melanie; children, Mendy (husband George) Cave of Ashland, Wendy (husband Jose) Ralat of Astoria, Rendy (husband Justin) Kass of Cuba, and Lendy (fiancé Hannah Clark) Pierson of Havana; step children, David Boyer of Mantino, Vanessa (husband Danny) Schafer of Dade City, Florida, and Valerie (husband Jim) Klasinz of Athens; siblings, Stephen Pierson, Darrell Pierson, Randy Pierson, Kathy Colson, Patty (Peters) Arterdery, Kenny Fortney and Russell Fortney Jr.; twenty two grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Frankie was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Frankie Pierson Jr.; a step son, Chris Newingham; a grandson, Matthew Vaughn; four sisters, Linda Boyd, Beverly Hill, Shirley Miller and Karen Cox; and fourbrothers, James “Jimmy” Pierson, Raymond Fortney, Danny Pierson and Charles Fortney. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Oakford Cemetery in Oakford, with Pastor Aaron Blakeley officiating.
